Hi Dave, You've also had a rough time of it! I've just read your history, I wonder why some people keep having recurring pain and others have no further pain after their operation. Guess we must be the unlucky ones. It was nice to hear from you how…

Well I officially got the news last week I think I knew was on the cards all along, I've got another prolapse at L4 / L5! This is the third at this level and to say I'm a bit cheesed off would be putting it mildly! Fortunately(?) I've got a consult…

Thought I'd add in the various pain relief I've tried over the last 15 to 20 years or so to show you what I've tried, what's worked and what hasn't. In terms of drugs, I've tried most of the 'stuff' you can buy over the counter and, depending on th…

Seeing as I'm at home again, resting my knackered back for the umpteenth time, I thought I'd spend some time looking around the 'net' to see if anyone else has the same sort of trouble as me, or am I the 'lucky' one! My story starts back in 1983 (…

And on it goes!

Thought it was time to update the saga now I've had all the results of the latest X-rays, MRI Scans and Physio reports back and discussed them with the consultant Neurosurgeon last week.

The news isn't good, my spine is twisitng, most likely due to the number of ops I've had on it over the years ( 4 microdiscectomy's now plus 2 steroid injections ) and wear and tear at the op sites. Basically, my lower back is so weak I have little or no control over it and cannot prevent further disc prolapses… Continue

Update

Hi All

Been a while but this is the first time I've been able to sit down lown enough to type this out!

Had a steroid injection as planned a couple of months back and had seen some improvement in back pain and mobility but then saw a gradual decline in right leg mobility and pain over a couple of weeks to the point where another MRI scan was called for.

Results of this came back last week and it turns out I have another prolapse at L4/L5! This too requires surgery ( microdiscectomy I hope but… Continue

Well I officially got the news last week I think I knew was on the cards all along, I've got another prolapse at L4 / L5! This is the third at this level and to say I'm a bit cheesed off would be putting it mildly!

Fortunately(?) I've got a consultant who agress with me that at my age with my surgical history, opting straight for more surgery now isn't the best option, so we're going to try another steroid injection into the disc(s) first to see what difference it makes. This is planned for the… Continue

My Story - So Far!

Seeing as I'm at home again, resting my knackered back for the umpteenth time, I thought I'd spend some time looking around the 'net' to see if anyone else has the same sort of trouble as me, or am I the 'lucky' one!

My story starts back in 1983 ( yes I'm that old ) in school on a football pitch according to the medical advice I've had since then. Medical advice given at the time of the back injury I sufferd playing in goal, was a torn mucsle. Some 15 years later, an MRI scan and a consultation… Continue
