hi everyone and yes the headline says it all..spent full day in hospital having tests and new mri done on 27th august and surgery as scheduled or 31st...met my aneathetist and hd heart tracing done...thats when my world tumbled and i knew looking ...

hi heather welcome to the site..i understand your pain and im 3 yrs down the line with L5/S1 prolapse and also surgery was ruled our for me too because no nerve compression from disc but from swelling...believe me when i tell you heather this disc...

my moan column,
been a lot of highs and lows since weekend..another phone call to my g,p cos pain was too much too take..back on diclofenac to minimse the inflammation. i informed him 13 wks wait to see a specialist a system of which i already went through a year ago to be helped with pain management..i was given morphine patches and a follow up visit...i had to undergo another urgent mri scan and waited only two wks last yr and never got results. nhs lost me and my files so here i am nearly another yr later and back on same waiting list...." HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE."? don,t know about other members but im tired of being a statistic..they never take into consideration your feelings and how we all cope not just physically but mentally..when you try to tell them its the usual MEDICATION GETS THE BLAME. I wish we could change the system to make them realise its our life and sanity that they neglect to work on as surgery can,t cure that...would love to hear comments. think im on one of my hate the world days..its so difficult for our close family to understand but it affects them too....let us all stay close guys as this site is a godsend. best wishes to you all liz xx

update from specialist appointment part 2.
hi everyone,

update from specialist appointment
hi everyone,
im now waiting on another appointment for another hospital in glasgow to see if the spinal surgeons there shall agree to remove the disc completely. The mri scan picked up a large prolapse and the specialist feels removal is only cure to let me be pain free.
im in so much pain today after my physical examination to which the specialist aplologised for giving me the physical as he should have checked the mri first.

back on inflammitories
hi everyone,
just quick update as pain was really through the roof last 3 days so back on voltarol again which i know shall be fine for few weeks then my stomach will play up again...didnt want to increase the morphine patch again as this happend last month and the side affect were terrible...
i cried constantly and had no sense of direction and also was too scared to sit grandaughter on my knee as i fell asleep at drop of a hat..i persevered for 14 days hopeing things would settle but needed th… Continue
